My Favourite Spring Trends // 2018

Good evening everyone,

Spring is right around the corner and that means switching out our wardrobes for the next fashion trends. I thought I would share with you guys some of my favourite trends of 2018. I wanted to talk not only about fashion but beauty and interior design too. I feel like there are a lot of cool things going on this spring and I really wanted to share.

Fashion and Beauty:

The first very notable spring fashion trend is pastels. You can’t pass a clothing store without seeing something pastel in the storefront. I don’t think anyone is unaware that this was going to be a big thing for spring. I love pastels, I actually have a lot of clothing that are pastel colours. I will for sure be sporting these colours in the next couple of months.

Mixed Prints

I have stripes! They are one of my favourite patterns. I’m super excited that mixing different patterns is a trend this year. It’s something I love to do no matter how crazy some of my outfits come out. I find that printers were meant to be mixed. I really suggest everyone try putting different patterns together in one outfit. It just looks so cool!

Sheer is one of those controversial trends. What is too much and what is too little sheer? I’d like to say I’m more of a modest girl when it comes to wearing clothes. I never wear a sheer top without something else underneath. I know that isn’t what’s in but that’s as close as I get to this look. I do like a nice sheer top with a cami under. I wish I had the courage to “Free the Nipple” but I don’t think I would ever be able to get away with it. What do you guys think? Is sheer too much?

Cinderella Shoes

I love heels! Whenever it’s in style I get so excited. It an excuse to be able to wear them more often. I am the kind of girl that feels comfortable in heels. I know not everyone is which is why. I like Cinderella Shoes, they aren’t too high. If you want to give heels a chance I suggest these ones. They’re like beginner heels besides Kitten Heels.

You all know I have my mom jeans out like everyone and their mother. I thought mom jeans looked nice on people, but I didn’t ever think it would look good on me. I was apprehensive of buying a pair. I decided to give it a chance I really like them. I wouldn’t say that are the comfiest jeans I’ve ever worn but they get better the more I wear them. I think they’re the kind of jean that needs some wear before they become comfortable.

Blue eyeshadow

This gives me such 80s vibes. I never loved blue eyeshadow. I always thought it looked tacky. Now that it’s styled different I’m starting to appreciate it more. I will be trying it out this spring but I’m not sure how I will like it. I added it to my favourites because if I can pull it off I think it will look super cool. What about you guys? Will you guys brave blue eyeshadow these next few months?

No makeup

I’ve also seen this be called no foundation makeup. I actually don’t wear makeup often for someone who does like it. I just never find the time to put it on. I don’t add it to my everyday schedule because that would mean having to wake up earlier and I am not about that life. I like that no makeup is in because I think it will help us embrace our natural beauty. I think people forget that makeup is supposed to help us accentuate our beauty and not to make us feel not feel beautiful without it. I am about loving myself when I am at my most natural so It’s exciting to see it be used on the runway too.

Now for Interior Design:

Ice Cream Colours

I like this trend. I think baby soft colours are really pretty if done right. I think it’s also bold to paint walls pink or purple in your home. I don’t think a lot of people see those colours as neutral colours. Society labels them as “girl” colours. I am here to say that isn’t true. Pink and purple can be masculine. No colour belongs to one sex. So who cares if you decide to paint your living room pastel pink?

Foliage and Tropical

This is my all-time favourite interior design look. I don’t care if it’s not in style anymore when I move out, my house will have plants and tropical things everywhere. I just love the down to earth and bohemian vibe it gives. It’s so peaceful and relaxing to me. I enjoy being surrounded by things that make me feel at ease. I’m literally obsessed with this style! I don’t even know how to describe it without sounding like a crazy person. I really want to move somewhere warm when I’m older. If I am to move to an island somewhere you bet, I will go all out for my home design with foliage and tropical inspired pieces.
