The Best Studying Space!

Good evening everyone!

It’s almost mid-session for me which means I have so much school work I think I’m going to go crazy. I have been doing hours of homework while trying to maintain my blog and youtube channel. It’s been a lot of work.

I know that a lot of you guys are in the same boat as me. Exam season is coming and you need a place to study. I thought I would give you guys my top advice on study spaces.

I usually use my deks to study or I sit on my bed. I used to sit on my bed to do everything. It’s just so comfortable. Over time though, I learned that I would slip into bad habits and watch a youtube video instead of studying. I still sometimes sit on my bed to do work but it’s mostly if I have to read something now.

I like to use my desk. I’ve had this desk from Ikea for some time now. I just never used it. It would be my collection station. I would just dump stuff on it and never actually use it. Now as shocking as this may seem, desks are great for studying!

I keep my desk very tidy because I’m a freak. Everything has it’s place. To start with the left side of my desk. There are two shelves and a place to store paper. I use these shelves for stationary things. I have all my extra bits that I are too small to leave out. I also have all my lined paper in the paper storage. It’s easy to just take out what I need when everything is here.

My art pencils are from here:

Now my desk area, it’s a weird shape because it’s a desk meant to fit in a corner. I used to keep a lamp in the centre but it broke so I have to study in the dark. I put up a few quotes that I printed from Pinterest to keep me motivated. I’m hoping to fix it up a bit because I don’t think it’s as nice as it could be. I also keep a little container with pencils in it. As you can see all my containers are random. That’s because I haven’t had the time or money to buy fancy matching containers. Hopefully soon if I start using my desk more often

The right side of my desk has more shelves in it. This is my kinda random side. I have stuff that I just keep on my desk because I think they should be there. I keep all my magazines here too. I have them there for inspiration when I’m working. As you can see I have a lot of Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan magazines.

By this desk here:

I always have my MacBook on my desk when I work that way I can open the PowerPoints and documents for whatever class I am studying for. It’s also good to put a playlist on. I need music in the background when I work. Not everyone is like this but I feel like I get more work done when I have some inspiring playlists on. I usually lean towards GirlBoss playlists. It reminds why I am working this hard. I want to have a good future and that can only happen if I put the work into it.

You can buy a similar one here:

I have my notebook and my favourite pencils. I’m the strangest person and I know it. I have a specific pencil I like. It’s not even a good one, it’s one that was bought in bulk. I just get attached to the weirdest things. So I have to have my pencil with me and my notebook. I keep my textbooks at school unless I need them. I don’t keep them on my desk unless I’m using them. I find they get in the way when I’m trying to work so I leave them close but not on the desk.

All in all, this is what my desk looks like. It’s not exactly where I want it to be but it’s getting better use than just a stockpile. I’m hoping to be able to see it as my business desk or work desk. I want to be able to do all my blog and youtube stuff at this desk instead of getting distracted on my bed.

Do you guys have any favourite places to study? Do you guys work more at your desk or on your bed?
